Applications

Applications

  • Professional Fire Rated Silicone sealing for wall and floor joints
  • Fire-stopping for pipe penetrations and cable transit points
  • Expansion joints in curtain wall systems and high-rise facades
  • Critical fire containment in commercial and industrial infrastructure
  • Sealing systems requiring smoke, toxic gas, and water infiltration protection

Compatible Substrates

  • Concrete, masonry, and brickwork
  • Metal pipes, cable trays, and aluminum frames
  • Glass and coated glass surfaces
  • Stone and various architectural panels
  • Most porous and non-porous building materials

Not Recommended For

  • Structural load-bearing glazing applications
  • Continuous immersion in water or high-pressure environments
  • Materials that bleed oils, plasticizers, or solvents (e.g., bitumen)
  • Totally confined spaces (this Fire Rated Silicone requires atmospheric moisture to cure)
  • Surfaces that are wet, frosted, or heavily contaminated with grease and dust

How to Use?

Surface Preparation

  • Ensure all bonding surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, rust, or loose particles to guarantee maximum adhesion.
  • For non-porous substrates (metal, glass), use a compatible solvent and a clean cloth for degreasing.
  • Cut the nozzle tip at a 45-degree angle to the desired bead size suitable for the fire-stop joint.
  • Verify that the ambient temperature is within the recommended range (5°C to 40°C) before application.

Application Instructions

  • Apply Fire Rated Silicone WD-336 as a continuous bead, ensuring complete contact with both sides of the joint or penetration.
  • For deep joints, use a fire-resistant backing material (such as rock wool) to control sealant depth and ensure the 4-hour fire rating.
  • Tool the sealant immediately after application (within 10-15 minutes) to ensure a smooth finish and a smoke-tight seal.
  • Ensure the Fire Rated Silicone completely fills the gap without leaving air pockets or voids that could compromise fire containment.

Curing & Limitations

  • Allow the sealant to skin over (typically 10-20 minutes) and achieve initial cure before any mechanical stress is applied.
  • Full performance for 280°C continuous exposure and waterproof integrity is achieved after a complete 7-day cure period.
  • Do not apply this Fire Rated Silicone to surfaces that are wet, frosted, or contaminated with oils and plasticizers.
  • This product requires atmospheric moisture to cure; avoid use in totally confined spaces where air cannot circulate.
