Weidu Becomes an IGCC Certified Sealant Supplier

Congratulations to Weidu on being included in the IGCC Sealant Supplier List!

On February 13, 2026, Weidu’s WD-981 participated in the IGCC insulated glass testing project, which officially passed certification. Weidu is very honored to be included in the IGCC certified sealant supplier list. This proves beyond a doubt that Weidu sealants can withstand the most rigorous industry testing.

IGCC System Certification Standards

IGCC (The Insulating Glass Certification Council), established in 1977, is one of the world’s most authoritative insulated glass certification bodies. It is a third-party non-profit testing organization, and its insulated glass product testing standards rigorously comply with ASTM E2190.

Weidu’s Participation in the IGCC Certification Project

On July 23, 2025, auditors from the Shanghai Institute of Quality Supervision and Inspection Technology personally visited the insulated glass manufacturing plant to supervise all materials and insulated glass manufacturing processes. From then until February 2026, when IGCC announced the certification of the testing project, the process took seven months, demonstrating the rigor and professionalism of the IGCC certification system!

We would like to express our gratitude to the Shanghai Institute of Quality Inspection and Technical Research Co., Ltd., an internationally accredited laboratory. It is CNAS accredited, a member of the ILAC-MRA international mutual recognition system, and one of the two officially authorized IGCC laboratories in Asia (the other being in Beijing, China). The IGCC testing project for which we participated was conducted by this laboratory, which also issued the final test report.

The Role of WD-981 Silicone Structural Seal in this Project

Our premium sealant, WD-981, was used directly in the IGCC insulated glass testing samples. Here are the precise specifications of the testing units:

Weidu WD-981, acting as the secondary sealing material for the insulated glass units, passed several stringent environmental and physical tests along with other components:

  • HH (High Humidity Test) & AW (Accelerated Weathering Test): Performed in accordance with ASTM E2188-19.
  • Fog Test: Performed in accordance with ASTM E2189-19.
  • Test Temperature Range (°C): TC1: 49.2-52.6, TC2: 47.7-52.3, TC3: 48.7-53.0, TC4: 48.1-51.

Throughout the experiment, the sealing system was subjected to intense wind pressure and thermal expansion and contraction, severely testing the structural integrity and durability of the sealant. The weathering test (ASTM E2188) required a massive 252 cycles of thermal cycling, ultimately achieving a dew point of <-60℃. The sealing system performed flawlessly, with WD-981 playing a crucial role as the secondary sealing material.

This success unequivocally demonstrates the superior stability of WD-981, making it highly suitable for use in extreme environments characterized by strong UV radiation, high temperatures, and severe humidity.
